In todays' world almost everything is done over the internet. It's fast and easy, that's what people like. For example, you can have your medication delivered right to your door and never have to leave your home. The problem that is now arising is that people are using "rogue pharmacies" to get prescription drugs without a prescription or even seeing a doctor. This is an easy way for people who are addicted to prescription medications to get them. These rogue pharmacies fill hundreds of prescriptions a day. The Drug Enforcement Administration reported that last year 34 rogue pharmacies filled 98.5 million dosage units of hydrocodone products. That is enough to give 410,000 people a months supply. The way these web site work is they go to doctors who are in debt and these doctors will write a prescription for $10-$25 each. After they get the prescription from the doctor they take it to pharmacies who are struggling and pay them extra money in addtion to the cost of the drug. The pharmacies fill the prescription and send it the the customer. Rogue pharmacies have no certification from the state boards. The number of web sites that exist is unclear but there are estimates that range from a few hundred to over 1,400.

What these rogue pharmacies are doing is wrong. In my opinion, it is almost like an upgraded version of selling drung on the street. It also shows just what people, like the doctors in debt, will do to get money. I defiinitly wouldn't want to be cared for by a doctor that will write false prescriptions. Not only is it wrong but the people who use the sites don't know exactly what they are getting. They may know what they asked for but they don't what is being sent to them. Police are trying to crack down on rogue pharmacies and prevent futher selling of prescription drugs. These people need to be caught.
