Gorilla Protection

Concerned conservationalists are investigating the senseless killing of mountain gorrillas in the Dominican Republic of Congo. Three females and one male were discovered by rangers in the Virunga National Park. Officials said the killings were not the work of poachers."This is a senseless and tragic loss of some of the world's most endangered and beloved animals," said Deo Kujirakwinja of the Wildlife Conservation Society's (WCS) Congo program. Conversationalists think that the killings were done by a group of people who were trying to scare the wardens out of the park. A census estimated that 380 gorrillas, more than half the world's population lived in the Virunga national park or surrounding volcanic areas. These killings bring the total number to 7 in this area this year.
It seems to me that if innocent animals are getting massacred for a disagreement between human beings then the world has become more of an ugly place than I thought. People should resolve their issues without having to resort to such extremities, but I guess we have a long way to go before we get to that kind of utopia. If there are only 760 gorillas left, and they are getting offed at a rate of 7 killings a year, then we might not have gorillas in 100 years, and what kind of existence would that be. Gorillas are awesome.
