Indonesia in recent years has had a bad reputation for damaging rain forests and contributing to global warming. Indonesia is now deciding to pay back to the environment and help save the forests. The upcoming goal is to plant over seventy-nine million trees in one day. This is going to be with the help of local residents and highly recognized officials like the president helping with this mission. If the seventy-nine million trees are planted it could become a world record. This event is scheduled for November, 28 of this year and is going to be a day that many local Indonesian residents may never forget.
This event could not be coming at a better time for Indonesia. In the last seven years they have been at the top of the record books for deforestation. Many countries around the world are trying to help this global dilemma of saving the environment. Although Indonesia has harmed the forests in the past, new tactics to plant millions of trees will help the forests of the future. It will take a while for the benefits of the newly planted trees to be seen, but anything is better than no trees at all. After all the natural disasters that have targeted the regions of Indonesia, it will be a new start for residents to come together and help restore damage that has been done in the past. Giving back to the environment should be at the top of every countries list of important future goals.
