The Dalai Lama and the Olympic Games
Today I’m covering the Dalai Lama, whose supporters have disrupted the pre-Olympic ceremonies around the world. He mentioned yesterday that he disapproves of the violent protests and that he supports China in wanting to hold the Olympic Games. He says that the Chinese people deserve to host the Olympic Games. The Dalai Lama said all this despite the turbulent events in Tibet. The Dalai Lama says that he feels really sad that the government of China has accused him of being behind all the violence that has been happening the Chinese government has accused the Dalai Lama of being a demon.
This article also mentioned that President Bush would be attending the Olympic Games but he had not mentioned anything about boycotting the opening ceremonies.
The torch has now arrived in Argentina aboard a plane from San Francisco and supposedly the Chinese authorities have claimed that they were planning to kidnap foreigners and carry out suicide attacks around these Olympics.
I really think that the Chinese government is wrong for accusing the Dalai Lama because even though they think of him as some sort of demon person, he shouldn’t be accused of such actions. The Dalai Lama is acting very civil in saying that the Chinese people have the right to host the Olympic Games and I think that the Chinese people should be grateful that he didn’t say anything against them because as I see it the government of China is acting very unfriendly.
As for the torch traveling around and the supposedly threats to kidnappings and suicide attacks I think that if the torch is to be stopped it would prove nothing and if it goes on with its path of travel it will be just fine.

I think that this is really interesting and I agree that everything will be fine. I hope that the olympics go well and that nothing about the protests will effect the people that are competing because this is such a good thing for people around the world and the people that are not in the olympics that like to watch the olympics will be able to enjoy the games and what they represent of people comming together.
