Scientists are saying that effects of global warming (such as high temperatures and heavy rainfall) are causing a string of diseases know as the deadly dozen. These 12 diseases are posing as a threat to both humans and wildlife across the globe. Researchers feel the need to set up monitoring systems around the globe to look for signs among animals before it can reach humans. Diseases that are included in the deadly dozen include: thee avian flu, Babesiosis, tick borne infestations, Ebola hemorrhagic fever virus, sleeping sickness, cholera, intestinal and external parasites, and Lyme disease. All of these are potentially fatal to both humans and wildlife. Increasing temperatures and fluctuating precipitation levels can change the distribution of dangerous pathogens. Emission reductions of 50-85% are needed by 2050 if the average temperature is to be contained at an increase of two degrees Celsius. The threat of all of these twelve diseases is a threat to the economic stability of the world. Monitoring of wildlife populations for health threats is vital in preparing for the worst to come.
This article is kind of scary to me. I never really gave the thought of global warming a second chance. I always thought that it is never really going to affect my personal life, the emergence of these diseases and their potential deadly threat is a real eye opener for me. I’d really like to do all that I can to help stop the spread of global warming, before it is too late.

It is very scary. I have believed in Global Warming ever since the issue had been brought to the Publics eye. I am proud to say that i try and do as many things as possible to conserve energy and water, recycle and walk instead of driving my car! I really hope that people will take this issue seriously so that we are not at risk of getting these diseases or treating this earth like without respect.
