Two people were shot and killed Friday at a community college in Dearborn, Michigan, in what police believe was a muder suicide. A man and woman were found dead in a classroom building on the campus of Henry Ford Community College, Dearborn Deputy Chief Gregg Brighton said. A shotgun was involved in the incident, which had occured in an unoccupied classroom. The school’s emergency system immediately notified students, faculty and staff about the shooting by email and cell phone, said Majorie Swan, vice president and the controller of the college. People really don’t know what caused this to happen, no name or any information about the shooter was released, so I don’t know if the the shooter was a students or just some other random person off of the streets. School shootings are becoming more common in society today, but how can we prevent this, there arent middle detectors in college. At, first a lot shootings were happening in High School, but more now in College. You can prevent weapons in school somewhat because theres not much traffic and your usually in one building, but with college you have a large campus and a lot buildings and continous traffic throughout the day, to actually have metal detectors, well college does have police stations on campus and officers around, but they can’t tell if a student has a gun or is up to any violent actions. So what do we do to prevent killings on college campuses? But my heart goes out to the family and friends of the young girl that was killed.
