In Libya over 200 migrants drowned due to an overcrowded ship during a storm in the Mediterranean. They finally had to stop the search for more survivors on Wednesday. There was a total of 257 people on board only a total of 20 people survived. The boat was filled with mostly African Americans, 70 women and 2 children, unfortunately neither of the children survived. All the survivors ended up at the Twesha refugee camp outsied of Tropoli. Many of the people that survived have kindney problems due to sea water because they spent 8 hours in the sea water. This is to be believed the deadliest migrant ship wreck between North Africa and Europe. Every year that the ships take this journey there seems to be a number of deaths but this year, this wreck seems to be the biggest that has happened in early memory.
I think that this is really sad to hear. The thing that hurts me the most is that they were suffering in the waters for 8 hours. I know that it took a while to get out to others about the wreck but I really just wish that more people had been saved and that the people who survived did not have to have health and kidney problems. It seems to me like this whole thing could have been prevented if it was not so crowded, more people would have been saved and stayed a live. It's sad the say that this is the deadliest migrant ship wreck between North America and Europe.
