This article is about the Florida panther and the fact that this panther based out of Florida was going to go extinct if we did not conserve the last bit of habitat it has left. The department of fish and wildlife service is looking for a treatment for this extinction. They have composed a petition that they have submitted to the obama administration to salve the crisis. Under the endangered species act, this animal should be protected. They have tried reviving the species by putting female cougars from other areas in the panther habitat and it seems to be working. The population is up for 30 to 100. This is an improvement but not enough. If the species environment is not protected soon, this species cannot handle much more chipping away of their environment. Let’s hope they can get the land preserved.

I was looking for an environmental destruction article on the internet. I came across this article about the Florida panther. This is not an article solely based on the environment but mostly based on the conservation of the Florida panther. Conservation of endangered species goes hand and hand with environmental destruction so there is a method to my madness. I also choose this article because I was very intrigued by the fact that Florida has an indigenous panther. I was fairly happy with the direction that this article was taking. To see that people are still and will mostly always be interested in conserving some endangered species indigenous to the United States is fabulous. These few articles I have commented on over the last few weeks have sum what restored my hope for humanity and its respect for the earth.

I think that conservation of wildlife is a very important issue globaly (even though your article was from Florida). I would like to hear more about what is being done to help save all endangered animals. When I was younger that is what I wanted to do when I grew up...Save the animals.

=)

The conservation of wildlife, especially endangered species is one of the most important subjects that gets the least amount of attention. Any species that is that close to extinction should be a primary target of conservation and should recieve funding or volunteers to help in its cause. I agree, save the panthers! Not just the Florida ones, but the Carolina Panthers could use some help too.

I also agree that the conservation of wildlife is a very important global issue. I love animals, and it makes me sad to think that something a majestic as a Panther of any kind, is dying out because it's habitat is being destroyed. People need to become more aware of this sort of issue so that we can begin to save different species across the globe. I went to the science and history museum in Chicago this past spring break. Going there really opened my eyes to how many animals are dyeing out because of human actions. There was a sign in one of the exhibits that said, over 35 species of animals have died since 8:00 this morning! That really surprised and upset me. Who new that that many species died out each day? I most certainly didn't. It is for reasons like this that I think we should work together to make the world a better place for animals to live.
