The Skinny on Alcoholic Beverages and Weight Loss Matthew Ellis

The Skinny on Alcoholic Beverages and Weight Loss

If your thinking about losing weight, should you give up the alcoholic beverages that you love the most. Studies show that the average American gets 400 calories a day from beverages. Lona Sandon, a nutritionist at the University of Texas Southwestern School of Health Professions and a spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association says that you need to watch your calories still, but you can get some health benefits from your favorite drink. The difference in males and females is that males tend to eat as well as drink, as woman would substitute a desert in order to drink. Moderate drinkers tend to have a lower BMI.

I think that this is a great study. Alcohol plays a big part in today's society as well as the need-to-be-fit idea. I believe this study and I think that it works to an extent. The only thing that is really negative about this study is not everyone takes alcohol the same way, so it would affect people in different manners. Alcohol and weight have not all pointed in the same direction and that it's very tough to tease out cause-and-effect relationships as well

I think this is a great find. There are many health benefits of alcohol. I personally have taken a 9month hiatus from alcohol. So, when I start again, if I start again. I would probably only drink red wine. But, very good information to relate due to weight gain that could occur with amount of consumption.

Yeah, anything you consume excessively can be a cause for weight gain. Just consume everything in moderation and exercise daily!
