Suicide Walk Planned

Basically this article is discussing the Out of the Darkness Walk which supports suicide victim's family members and loved ones. The walk is created by a group of individuals with the help of local churches. It is designed to be a community based event where supporters of the cause and loved ones of the victims can come, fellowship with one another while raising the money to continue this outreach program. The two leaders of the program feel as though the topic of suicide is often overlooked and simply avoided due to the uneasy feeling it creates. On the day of the walk, both supporters and loved one line up and take strides together in unison and love in remembrance of those lives lost. They also have the opportunity to give donations in order to keep the program alive and provide awareness to a larger base.

Reaction: Overall, I feel as though this particular event is wonderful for, not only the community discussed, but people across America. Suicide is an extremely unfortunate thing that can happen to anyone. Whether you decide to take your own life or are faced with the unbearable pain of a loved one making that choice, there is a need for support systems. I think the creators of this program are great individuals and there is a need for more in the world. If pastors, church members, counselors, and concerned people could join forces and help provide support to those in need the world would be a better place.

I'm glad people can come together enough to come to terms with something so hard to deal with. Grief like that lasts for a long time. This article is very sad yest important. Thanks for posting it.

Suicide is an awful thing and it effects the victim's families a lot more than any of us can imagine. It's great that someone is actually trying to help these families who have lost someone and not shunning them because of it.

Suicide is a terrible situation, very hard to find in a good in the world during the period. So it's always a wonderful thing for the community to come together help someone cope with a loss.

Suicide is a horrible thing and sadly suicide rates are rising. I think the walk that they had not only honored those who were lost due to suicide but it educates us as well.
