Hofstra Student Recants Claim of Gang Rape
This article is about a female student at Hofstra University who accused five men of gang rapping her in her dorm bathroom over the weekend. She is now dropping her charges against the men. The victim changed her story while under questioning. She first accessed her “attackers” of luring her into the bathroom and taking advantage of her. While under questioning she said it was consensual. Apparently the women meet one of the men at a popular college night club where they danced. He then stole her phone which caused her to follow him and his friends. From there, the rape took place. After the college girl told attorney it was consensual, all charges were dropped.
Although this incident happened in the United States, it is still a global issue as we witnessed in the video from class about rape in The Congo. Rape is very prevalent on college campuses today due to drinking and different date rape drugs. Incidents like this happen all the time. Either a female will have crazy experience like this and feel embarrassed to own up to it so they call it rape. Or they really are forced to do things they do not want to and feel like no one will believe them. Either way it is sad that it is even an issue. Rape causes many physical and psychological problems that are hard to overcome.
