Canadians used to believe that immigration was needed in the country to fill jobs, but they seem to be singing a different tune nowadays. Canada’s annual immigration rate is the highest in the world. James Bisset, former director of Canada Immigration Service, notes that 80% of the migrants are not skilled workers, therefore that doesn’t address the need to fill labor shortages. Also, half of the immigrants flunk out of Canadian universities. Canadian officials agree that the country has got to be more selective when choosing immigrants. If people are allowed to stay for humanitarian reasons or because they’ve been granted refugee status, then it’s quite apparent that the economical needs are not being met.
Normally, I don’t really agree with the notion of, in a sense, telling people who can and cannot stay, but in this case I’ll change my stance. Canada doesn’t really justify its high immigration rate, eventually the costs they’re going to bear will be social and economical. If you have a system that lets you, sort of, choose who is allowed to enter the country, then why not use it to fill the labor needs? I’m not saying they should only let skilled immigrants, but economically it just makes sense. As far as education goes, being selective is definitely needed. Half of the migrants flunk out of the institutions, that, in the long run, will make the universities look bad. You want international students to come and succeed, and do well in their respective careers. It will boost perception and opinions of schools and of course it will bring in more money as well.

I agree with Jordan. I normally have no issue with immigration, however if they're no benefits to Cananda then they might have to be more strict about who they are letting come in. If not, it could have a negative impact on Canada.
I agree as well on the fact that Cananda should change their tune on immigration amd the fact that the immigrants who don't take their education seriously shouldn't be able to continue their education because they are just wasting money and are making the schools look bad. But it's kind of funny Canada is just now seeing this with immigration.
