A new human rights program is about to be introduced that will change the academic world. It will provide a way to allow student groups to study human rights issues and do activities that will focus on issues. This program will launch on October 14 and it will feature speakers from all different kinds of academic departments that will all come together to try and make this program as successful as it could be. The program at Stanford University will provide a central academic group that will be a first for the university. If students are already interested in human rights then this program will be perfect for them. Adam Rosenblatt said that “because it touches almost every sphere of human life, human rights scholarships has become an interdisciplinary venture.”
I think this program is really cool. Human diversity is an interesting topic that would actually be something that I would enjoy studying. I am in a human diversity learning community and our goal is to experience different cultures and look at situations in the eyes of others in order to learn how to deal with different situations and look at different possibilities throughout the world. The human rights topic could cover many issues that could be discussed in a logical manner that would help to bring about change in the world or at least in the surrounding community. Overall it seems like this program is going to be a success because of what school its being started at and because of the interest in it.
