This article focuses on the Chevron Company. This is one of the biggest companies in the world and made 24 billion dollars last year. In going with the theme of this generation, it is trying to lead the way in finding solutions to our global climate problem. They have been releasing adds asking the American people to cut back on their energy consumption. As they are advertising this, they build a plant that is one of the top producers of pollution in the United States. The main focus of the article is showing how chevron is interviewed by companies that talk so good about the company, but they do not have the other side of the story.
This article annoys the crap out of me. This is the story of politics and large companies’ lives. They say one thing and do the other. They put up a mask on their operations and have PR people go out and talk about all the good things that they do. Then when someone does a little research on the so called company, we find out what is actually going on. This is not helping the world. These companies are the biggest hypocrites to ever exist. The article says that after all the talk about them working on alternative fuels; they spent little to no money on the cause. If these companies spend more money on the cause then telling people about what they are doing, this world would be a lot healthier place.
