The northern states of Mexico continue to suffer from the brutality of the country’s drug cartels. The cartels are making money by bringing cocaine and heroin into the United States. When the drugs enter the US they are then moved up north into Chicago and Indiana. For now, the drug cartels are finding it harder to move the drugs across the border because of the war that is going on in the country between the different drug cartels. Also, since the prices for the drugs are increasing, it is harder for them to be smuggled in. The police in the US say that cartels don’t control the trade of the drugs, they just supply them.
Some of the drug cartels members are being jailed but that by it are not going to stop the drugs from being smuggled into the US. Some way or somehow, the police in the US need to find ways to decrease the demand for the drugs so that they want have to worry about them being smuggled in. This article was very surprising to read. I learned that ninety percent of cocaine in the US comes from Mexico. It really surprised to see the measures that cocaine dealers go through just to get the drugs. Is it really necessary to do all of that? Cocaine does not do the body any good and I don’t see how people use it.

Drugs are always going to be a problem for societies. However, I find that drug trafficking is not a huge problem worldwide because most governments do not make it a top priority. I do believe that it is important to protect citizens from drug trafficking but it will never cease.
