Twenty Killed in a US Drone Attack in North Waziristan

On Tuesday, a US drone attack killed at least twenty suspected militants.  The attack took place in the Ghulam Khan area of Pakistan’s northwestern tribal region when the US drone targeted training camp of the Taliban.  Security officials said that the US drone fired missiles at the compound located near the border of Afghanistan in the main town of the North Waziristan tribal agency.  Local intelligence officials said that after the attack, the militants surrounded the destroyed compound and were searching through the rubble and an excavator was digging graves for the dead in a nearby cemetery.  This could possibly be one of the deadliest drone attacks to take place in Pakistan.  North Waziristan is a stronghold of the Haqqani militant group.  This militant group has been involved in the attacks in Afghanistan on NATO-led foreign troops.  The US has been putting pressure on Pakistan to take action against the group because it is also an ally with the Taliban.
This could be one of the deadliest drone attacks in Pakistan.  This could be used as a statement to the Taliban, Haqqani militant group, and other terrorist groups that the US is looking to officially take them off the map.  The US has increased their drone attacks in Pakistan attempting to take out leaders of some of these terrorist militant groups; this time it seems as if they may have hit a jackpot.  Hopefully, this will put fear in the terrorist groups and they might back down; though that is very unlikely because of all the drone attacks up until this point have not stopped them.
