Apple Accused of Poisoning Chinese Workers

Apple is probably the most well known company when it comes to technology. They are always coming up with the next best thing. For Americans this means a brand new toy to play with but for the Chinese Apple employees this means possible poisoning. Apple has set up all the manufacturing jobs for their products offshore instead of having Americans do the work. “It costs a company like Apple 8 to 24 times more just to pay for health care for an America worker; not including salary; than it does to pay a Chinese worker, it’s much cheaper to employ Chinese workers.” There are many allegations against Apple right now for poisoning and polluting the workers and workplaces in China. Apple has yet to comment on these claims. There are many Chinese environmental groups complaining to Apple about these serious problems and yet the company is not responding. The fact that there has been no answer from Apple is not much of a shock because they are known for being unresponsive. One huge reason that Apple will not move their work over to the U.S. is because it would cost much more to pay American workers but also it would cost much more to buy their products. Apple would not be able to compete with the costs of other companies such as Sony and Samsung. Even if Apple can not afford to have American workers they should at least be able to make the workplace safe for their Chinese employees.
