The article that I chose came from BBC news website and is focused in the United Kingdom. This article discussed plans for a program that is trying to end all violence against women and young girls. This program is to help both women and girls who have been the victims of domestic abuse or rape crimes. There are clinics that help these women escape the situation that they are in and then offer counseling to help them cope with their traumatic experiences. Theresa May is a minister for inequality with women and girls. Her ultimate goal is to be able to prevent women and girls from being the victims of abuse, but as of her short-term goal, she has formed the idea of a surcharge. This surcharge is paid by the inmates that have a conviction due to an act of violence against a woman; they will have to pay a certain amount of money. The profit from these payments will go towards the upkeep of these clinics for woman as well to building more clinics so that all women can get help no matter where they are. This will not be an easy task but it is definitely one worth the fight. Ms. May stated that a study shows that one in four women are subject to domestic violence. These programs are to help put a stop to all acts of violence towards women whether it is human trafficking which is forced prostitution or the domestic violence from women significant others. This is not only a social problem this effects many people all across the world because this type of violence toward women exists all over the world.

This sounds like a really good idea to have people who responsible literally pay for what they've done. I had a news article about a father son team trafficking Romanian women into the UK. They're in jail but the sentence isn't harsh enough in my opinion. They made a pretty penny off it too, it'd be sweet to have it go towards rehabilitating the wmoen they hurt.

Dear Vickey,

I loved your article. I work the domestic violence and sexual assault crisis lines in Forsyth County for Family Serices. Many European countries are stepping outside the box and trying new ideas that really seem to be working. High Point, NC Police Department is being very proactive in studying many of these new ideas. Hopefully, we will see some advancement made here in or local communities soon.

I like the idea that people have to pay for their consequences and how the money be used for the upkeep of female clinics. I am also writing about women and wrote about women being trafficking, so this blog definitely caught my eye.
