Mobile Technology will Improve Health in Brazil's remote communities

The Vodafone Foundation and the United Nations are partnering on creating a mobile initiative for social good in Brazil. They are developing a mobile device for the public health of Brazil. The initiative is to potentially connect indigenous communities in remote areas of Brazil with access to health information. This comes from the efforts of the public-private partnership with the U.N, Vodafone, the Pan-American Health Organization, Brazilian government, and the mHealth Alliance. The world’s mobile networks have begun to help the under served population by providing them the opportunity to gain health information from outside sources. The potential health benefits are great and the mobile technology has been shown around the world to potentially help with solutions to health information gaps. The Brazilian Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Vodafone Foundation, and PAHO will focus on one community to see how wireless communications can stretch to some of Brazil’s hardest to reach communities. The mobile devices are providing a break through a disjointed universe of health data by providing a continuous spread of health information.

When we think about it socially there is a lack of ways that some people are able to receive health information. When there are so many places that are so many communities in hard to reach places it becomes an even tougher task for its citizens to get access to the information. With the world becoming more technologically advanced, mobile devices seem to be one step into the future of giving people who wouldn’t be able to access health information the ability to get it.

This was exactly what I was thinking of, not everyone has that type of technology to get the awareness. Especially in remote areas, so I wonder what other ways can this information be shared? I do agree that mobile device is a great step to let others be aware.

Mobile Technology will improve the health. You are saying that. But in other things I have read many times that the mobile usability is not good for health.
