Go to Learn

It becomes very discouraging when your money is wasted right? We all fuss and ramble about how our tax dollars are spent. We know how well our educators are teaching based upon (the worst thing imaginable) standardized tests. Some countries have no way of showing progress in all learning fields other than a test every three or four years. How many of you can recite a poem you learned from your English class in high school? It is very difficult to recall that information.

That is how the students in India are feeling. Enrolment is up, but what good is that doing when they are not even learning anything? This is a very difficult thing to handle because you have to go back and start again. The money used to increase attendance was great but should have been divided to enhance the equipment and resources for the teachers to give accurate information and give their students a boost on their achievement level. For instance lets view this in a more common situation. If you go to a sold out movie, you expect it to be amazing and well worth your pretty penny. When you watch the movie the volume of the sound is so low you miss most of the dialog. When you meet up with friends who saw the same movie earlier with good quality sound, you feel cheated because you are left behind, same with education. Everyone deserves a quality education so why not ask questions and get it? It is important to know where your money goes. Go to county board meetings and find out what your taxes and contributions are helping or not helping.
