There is pressure for the improvement of women rights in the Arab world. There is only a 3.4% of representation of women in Arab parliaments. In Saudi Arabia they have been women who want more rights and more lead way to do more with their lives. 24 women went to parliament and insisted that they take part of the discussions. They were rejected but later it was explained that parliament was not ready for the presence of a woman in the building. This leads to the question of how women can be a part of something if men would not allow them to participate in certain things especially when comes to their rights. Saudi Arabia decided to give women “special seats” in parliament which included separate entries and exits from the men. They can watch the sessions but the women are invisible from the members of parliament. This hardly seems fair. Yes it is there is some progress in this situation but barely enough. These women need to have face to face interaction with these men to get there point across. There is no plan that women will be part of parliament anytime soon. There has been a similar problem in Kuwait where there was bill presented that would allow women to vote and be candidates for office. This bill was later voted against. It was said that no more than 70 percent of the members of parliament opposed granting women their political rights. Today all the world women are still trying to get their rights and have a stand in the world. Society needs to accept that women too have voice and that it just as important as what men have to say.
