A 21 year old Duke student was in a single car accident Thursday night that killed his passenger, a friend and fellow Duke student. The vehicle lost control and struck a tree sending it down a hill where it ended up on its roof. totally crushing it. The driver only
received minor injuries. He was driving while drunk or high and this is what caused the accident. These two boys were both fraternity members at Duke, a very large and old school, whose fraternities are also often very old. These facts put with the Duke lacrosse scandal that no one has forgotten about makes me wonder why Duke, or some part of it, does not have a taxi system set up for drunk co-eds leaving parties. Vehicular manslaughter is a horrible crime that the driver will probably have to spend some time in jail for as well as having to live with the fact that he killed his friend.
