Blog 1 Unequal Women of Haiti

A year after Haiti's disaster, women and girls are still facing horrible consequences.  The earthquake was not a social problem in origin, but it's after affects have greatly impacted Haiti.  Women are having babies on the streets with no medications.  It is hard for them to get healthcare because of not having proper identification or even the transportation to get there.  This is affecting numerous amounts of women in Haiti so the social problem is huge.  As other countries have come together to try to help is has not changed much unfortunately.  The article states that 260M was embarked for healthcare, and yet the women still are not getting adequate healthcare.  They have only dispersed half of the money in order to use the rest to reconstruct hospitals.  Right now it appears they need to get their priorities in check and do less reconstructing.  Their women and young ladies are suffering due to their choices.

This can also be compared to the social web because the issues that are occurring right now are going to build to bigger things.  If women are not getting taken care of soon, more cases of disease and other illnesses will occur.  It is not safe for their women to have babies on muddy grounds and without the right medical care after the birth.  The babies will be affected if not taken care of properly after birth.  This also relates to sociology because it will take different groups to actually get things taken care of.
