Blog 2 Selling of Women

Gender poses differences across the board.  Women normally get the bad end of the stick when it comes to gender.  This is especially accurate for immigrant women.  Both men and women immigrants face low wages, ethnic discrimination, and extreme working conditions.  The main problem is sexual abuse and harassment.  Women are often taken advantage of in the work force by the men in charge.  This is true all over the world not just the US.  Women of all ages also face the problem of being taken as prostitutes and being raped.  Trafficking is a huge issue facing the world today and is affecting the youngest of girls.  They are taken away from their families and taken to new countries to sale their bodies.  Even when seeking for help is not successful because their cries are not heard and it is not worth the risk of the abuser finding out.
This is a global problem because it is affecting women around the world.  The public must get involved to help solve the problem, it is absolutely capable.  Things like Family Violence Protection Fund and Violence Against Women Act are things that will help but must be supported and backed up more by people in power.  Women should have the freedom to move in between countries and not face hard inequalities than what male immigrants face.   There are better options in industrial countries so as long as immigrants do things appropriately it should be safe at least in the US
