"Censoring the web?" that's what I said when going to google and be able to see that congress is actually trying to get a bill passed stating that its to stop online trafficking in copyright property and counterfeit goods. When really in the slow economy we have now passing that bill will only hinder us as a whole. Jobs will be lost and basically freedom of speech is taken away! So say goodbye Facebook, Twitter, and even websites like this one right now. From what I know its supposed to monitor what goes on and stop to any INFRINGEMENT that goes up online on websites. Now go look up that word and thats basically a lot of things that we do and or post on twitter Facebook, and blog sites. Google had do not censor the web on top of its logo and Wikipedia actually had a whole day of protest where it informed us of what was going on. Though a fairly new bill being considered since only starting up last year, as you can see and probably heard the uproar that it has cause in America. The house of judiciary committee had a few hearings on the bill in November 16 and December 15 of last year. Its already planned to have another debate in February since neither side is giving in. This is history in the making and its something that is worth keeping up with daily.
I believe honestly that S.O.P.A is just another way of letting the government take control. Call me crazy but I think its bigger than a social problem for just Americans. I'm starting to believe that its going to turn into a global social problem for everyone. And I think even more people should get more involved with this situation because many do not recognize what could possibly come from this.
