European-Moroccan pact loosens fish, food trade

This article told about how the European Parliament and Morocco together approved a new fishing and farming accord between the two in hopes of reducing customs costs and to boost trade across the Mediterranean Sea.  The reducing of custom costs is supposed to increase exports from the EU by 50% and increase exports from Morocco by 15%.  The new agreement is showing that Europe wants to support Morocco and their new government, and also to just improve relations with countries below it. If the agreement hadn't passed, Morocco said they would be re-evaluating their relationship with the EU. Some in Morocco say that the accord mostly benefits Europe and the industrialized parts and the big farms of Morocco, not the small farmers. It could also affect small farms in Europe.
This event is important because trade is an intrical part of the world economy, and any steps taken to increase trade and relationships between countries will only benefit the world economy. Although it is more set up to benefit Europe it will also help out Morocco to get more exports out to bring more money in the country. More trade means more money for both economies. This can relate to a social problem because trade agreements are social on a world level and we all have to work together to keep things going.
