Blog #10 Silent Crisis in the Developing World

This article talked how developing countries suffer from burns that are minor and can be treated with the right attention. In developing countries mainly the children and women are suffering from being burning. This is occurring the most in low income family were the women cook on an open flame or use flame for heat. Over seven million are burned a year within the developing countries. I noticed that in the article they compared developing countries to the United States often. They talked about how United States easily cures and treat burns, and how they are struggling to cure a minor burn which turns into major problems. They stated in the article that in the developing countries more people are being burned than infected with TB and HIV/AIDS. They also say that they cannot be seen at all without the proper insurance to get treated in the developing world as to United States you cannot be refused.  They did say that they had a shortage of doctors and surgeons. In this article they are asking for help so that people (women and children) do not continue to die. I agree that they do need help. We need to help them get their yearly number of burns down. I agree also with this because people are losing their life to minor injuries. I believe that we can help by fundraising for them and getting some doctors to be willing to relocate even if it’s going to be temporarily. I believe that they are living terribly and we should all try to engage in a way to help out.
