Apple is a huge company that has
huge profits, also is an international corporation. The old CEO of apple Mr.
Job’s, recently passed away and the new CEO is Mr. Cook. They have had many issues
with job labor in China, within the factories. The new CEO made an appearance
to the factories which have never happened before in Apple. Apple has had many
issues with labor in these factories from child issue’s to unsafe working
conditions. These are very common in China, these factories mostly American
product is the worst ones to work at. That’s the saddest part is mostly all of
these labor issues around the world are from American corporations that try to
rip people off more than any other country. They pretty much make these people
their “legal slaves.” Well on April 2, Mr. Cooks the new CEO of Apple stated
after he visited these factories that there will be significant changes in the
hours these people work and their wages will also significantly rise. He
states, “I was a factory worker growing up in Alabama, I was enraged when I heard
of all these labor violations and the one that enraged me was when I was
reported in my own factories that we have child violations. That is unacceptable
to have child labor, this will never happen in Apple again! “
This isn’t one of a total labor
issue, but to me this is a great start to showing that someone out their (aka
CEO) actually cares about his employee’s. The only thing that probably
benefitted this matter is that he was poor and a blue collar worker in the
past. He grew up working in the factories that he now owns. Most CEO’s and
owners are from rich back rounds and come from never having a Blue collar job
in their lives. This shows that someone though really does care; hopefully it
will alter the minds of the other CEO’s in the U.S. to having better
corporations to work for. This is only a small percentage of factories in China
that are going to have better working conditions; there are many more there
that need a desperate change.
