I have chosen to focus my attention throughout the entirety of this course on the issue of "war." War is a topic of interest to me simply because of its endless presence in global society. War has been waged among nearly every civilization in human history and has become increasingly rampant in our global society. Because of war, we as a society are beginning to see unique social phenomena emerge and reemerge. Several issues and topics regarding the privatization of war, the evolution of weapons and means to make battle more effective, and even the culture that emerges during times of war are all topics worthy of sociological exploration.
