According the article, “Japan, China discuss cooperation to fight air pollution,” written by Atsushi Okudera, stated that China air pollution gotten so bad that Japan is willing to help China get rid of their air pollution. The Division directors representing the environment, foreign and industry ministries of Japan and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of China attended the two-hour talks. A source who attended the meeting quoted Japanese representatives is concerned about China’s air pollution crossing borders to other countries and affects them. China was also told that Japan is willing to offer their air monitoring, pollutant identification and related environmental technology, which it acquired through its past efforts to fight pollution in Japan, for use in China. Tokyo’s representative also argued about that Japanese technology such as electron microscopes and other devices to identify pollutants, along with its pollution-simulation technology, would be instrumental in fighting PM 2.5. Tokyo also hoped to open up new business opportunities for Japanese companies that specialize in air pollution mitigation technology.
This article states that China’s air pollution just became another country problem and that country is Japan. China’s air pollution is so bad to the point where Japan is willing to help China get rid of their air pollution before it crosses borders to other countries. The only problem this article didn’t state is that what kinds of methods are being used to get rid of China’s air pollution. The article only stated that Japan is willing to help China by letting China use Japan’s technology to get rid of air pollution.
