Many countries of India, Africa, and
globally have reported cases of trafficking women, and they have a high crime
rates of prostitution in certain known popular areas known for this unlawful act. Here in America we have the same issue going on, the news just doesn't always broadcast everything. Recently Cary police charge a twenty-six year
old man by the of name Tony O'Brien Williams, from Durham for turning
two women into prostitutes. Williams was held on $250,000 bail.
Williams was convicted of impersonating a police officer last Fourth
of July. Captain Don Hamilton, head of the Cary police investigations
stated, “Young women who are new to the area or the country may
have no other means of support and can fall prey to people who turn
them to prostitution as a way to survive.” These women includes immigrants from other countries that are lost and culture shocked. Those two
women met Tony O'Brien Williams and probably thought he was a nice
man from his appearance, but looks can be very deceiving and little did they know he had a plan up his
sleeve that would have ended their lives if he was not caught up
by the police.
For the first time I decided to look in
the crime that occurs here in America, then I thought why not look
into my local area crime rate on women. Globally, women are being
forced into prostitution. Some are fortunate to get away like the two
victims in this crime, but some are in it till death, they never
escape and they are never found and sadly for some that are found
they can't be identified because they don't have a legit form of
id.We tend to forces on other counties with high crime rates of prostitution and or sex trafficking but we have the same issues right in our country.
