Recently at Harvard (even if Harvard is in the US it has global impact) an amazing thing was accomplished, Mind Control. Using merely a cap that reads brain waves one can control the tail of a rat that is also hooked up. The volunteer merely has to look at a screen with a flashing image that syncs with the computer. Once the volunteer disrupts that sync by thinking of moving the rats tail the computer then recognizes that and sends an ultrasonic pulse, a pulse that stimulates the motor cortex of the rat. This results in the rat's tail to move. There are also plans to attempt this with humans as well, mainly aimed for "therapeutic applications".
Though this process right now may seem rather complicated and the use of a computer and the second party having to be hooked up may alleviate some fears of mass mind control. Wireless tech is always improving. This all truly can boil down to a human rights issue, as yes right now the technology is not advanced enough to do more than merely wag a rat tail, in time it will have more possibilities. Some truly great things can come out of this, with the ability to interpret brain waves and utilize them it could help immobile people function in the outside world, though at the same time things could go in the other direction too of perhaps being used as a crowd control in the distant future since all it takes is some electrodes being implanted in the 2nd party's brain. Though at this moment it is not an issue, it could arise to be a great one in the nearing future.
