Ebola
Hit Guinea ask for Funds for Creaking Health Sector
In Guinea
which is a very rural country in Africa, their international donor and charity
resource feel that the donors and charities should give money to improve guinea
health care system instead of just building more Ebola care centers. According
to the polls the worst outbreak of Ebola in Africa has killed 9,117 people out
of the 22,894 cases reported. Most of the cases and deaths have been seen in
Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. This can be related to how these three countries
have the weakest health care centers. Even though Ebola is still very prevalent in
Guinea they are asking for better help to improve their health care center.
They say this because after Ebola is over the Ebola Health care centers will disappear,
and Guinea will not be prepared for any other major outbreak or epidemic. Right
now Guinea’s health care system is as bad as having only one doctor for every 100,000
people and only 3,435 beds for a population of 11.5 million people. If more
organizations were more willing to give to help improve guinea’s health care
instead of just helping with Ebola, then it would actually help Guinea in a tremendous
way.
After
reading this article I feel that these organizations and charities should defiantly
help improve Guinea’s health care centers. It’s really great that they are
helping with building Ebola care centers but it would make an even greater
impact if they help improve their health care center. Guinea is very rural and
poor like many countries in Africa and sadly suffer from poor health care. I
believe if organizations and other countries band together to help improve areas
such as Guinea then we would have a very great system of being able to offer
help to other nations. I also feel that everyone should have a good system of
health care available to them.
