You Can Trace a Lifetime of Gender Inequality Through Everyday Sexism

Summary
This article talks about how everyday, you can notice the inequalities of gender. Sexism in just normal everyday life affects the views and how women feel. It also goes as far as how men feel as well. The author goes into about what her trip in London happened. She talks about how she was groped and no one did anything about it. She then started a website to allow women to express their experiences. Today, there are over 100,000 testimonies that have been shared on this website. They talk of things like humiliation, harassment, prejudice and discrimination, domestic violence and rape. The stories are from places like Spain, Turkey, Germany, India, Japan, England and Israel. They go from not being able to get higher education, being forced upon, and even not get a job because they turned down a threesome. Then the article does some quotes varying in age from the website that the author talked about.

Analysis

I have done most of my blogs on how the inequality has been affecting income, but what I never touched on was how inequality affects people. Women are the most reported but they also have happened against men. This inequality appears in every day life and has even gone as far as creating several protests and just acting in a way to be almost harsh. The last statement that was made was “Will you take a stand, or will you be the person who looks out of the window?” I believe that it only takes one person to stand up and slowly they will start to change the entire world. After reading some of the posts, I am even starting to plan in my mind a way to make everything in the world become a better place. When someone, the age of 80, is giving out a statement of sexual harassment and inequality that just goes too far in my mind.
