South Africa is also faced with a presidential election coming up. And their election may be even more historical than our Clinton, Obama duo. South Africa’s front-runner is a white man by the name of Zuma. He emerged out of the ANC party from which Mandela came out of, but the controversy lies with him being more than white. Zuma has a history that would make him a hard candidate to be the CEO of a company much less a president. He is a projected leader that does not feel strongly about HIV/AIDS, women’s rights, or business integrity. He is also in the midst of a sex scandal that could surely keep him out of the presidential picture. He has supposedly survived a rape conviction and faces many questions about his relationship with a fraudster. Non-the less, if he is not convicted he will most likely become the next leader of South Africa with a criminal history as a resume. “but then, will all the members of the African Union that are "clean" please raise your right hands!”
A president of any country that has a record like Zuma makes the region seem more like a cartel than a country. I’m sure you all are no strangers to the history of South Africa’s corruption along with its impact on the world market through that corruption. Of course I am not one to judge because I am politically ignorant, but the influence he will have on world relations with his country can be nothing but negative. After reading this article I wasn’t exactly sure if he has any positive attributes that made him close to introducing worthy, much less presidential.

Ugh, it seems like the only people who really want to get into large-scale politics are douchebags at heart.
Great idea, let's elect a convicted rapist as our president. Hopefully his morals can trickle down.
He is not a white man. His ignorance about HIV/AIDS is comparable only to that of his political rival, current President Thado Mbeki. He insists that the sex he had with the woman who accused him of rape was consensual. He is infamous in S.A. for having testified during his trial that, as the woman was known to have HIV, after unprotected sex he took a shower, thus supposedly ensuring his safety from the pandemic virus. Meanwhile, Mbeki's government promotes the use of certain herbs in "curing" AIDS. Neither promotes the use of condoms, nor do they promote the teaching of the use of condoms as the one sure way, other than abstinence, to protect oneself from HIV/AIDS.
