Nigeria: NGO Teams Up With FMC Against HIV/Aids
I have been retrieving my current event blogs on the health issue of AIDS. Today I have found an article that is another organization which is attempting to help the world with our HIV/AIDS problem. Family Health International (FHI), a non-governmental organization, has promised to partner with a federal medical centre Jalingo, in Taraba State in the battle against HIV/AIDS. Dr. Idris Balasa stated that the Family Health International organization already had the capabilities that were necessary facilities to begin a full operation in the battle against the AIDS virus. Dr. Idris Balasa aslso stated that the operation base would include screening, counseling and drug administration among other programs. These programs would be of no charge to the patients. This allows more patients to have proper care without having the difficulty of paying for the bills. Within the next year he plans on having the operation base with great staff in the fight against the virus. He has said that his achievements and expectations for the next year “which include the expansion of the hospital accommodation and offices, construction of the accident and emergency units, provision of water and other basic facilities.” This relates to the other articles I have found based on health issues and AIDS. I think all these different programs will indeed help a percent of the victims of the HIV/AIDS virus. Many scholars are trying to help in the battle. Collaborations of teams have been in action is discovering innovative ideas in the assistance to other for this specific health issue.
