In Damascus, Syria thousands gathered in the square to protest the US's raid near the Iraq border. The protest displayed the message, "America, leave us alone." Syria's government has even gone toward measures of removing security along the Iraq border to reduce security cooperation with the US. Syria's government asked the US to justify their raid on Sunday by asking about the Al-Queda militants existence near Syria. This protest lead to Syria's US embassy closing because of security concerns. The people of Syria want to be compensated for this attack, and asked when the US's bullying would end. Iraq has admitted to no part in the attack and has expressed apologies for Syria to keep strong ties. I feel this attack was legitimate. It is apparent the US was misinformed about the where abouts of this terrorist group but I think that any chance the military has to destroy a terrorist group then they should take advantage of it. However, I think the US has become a bully in the middle east and needs to let the countries there deal with their own problems.
