On Thursday,CIA director Michael Hayden claims that Al-Qaeda no longer sees Iraq as the "central front" of this war. Hayden also says Al-Qaeda is on the verge of strategic defeat at a speech that continued to pose threats by Osama's thugs. Today, Al Qaeda's flow of money, weapons, and fighters has diminshed in Iraq and aren't going to the battle field. They are now saying the Afgan-Pakistan border is "ground zero" for battle. For Al-Qaeda this border is a safe haven. Hayden says that Iraq terrorists may bleed out elsewhere which poses a threat on the rest of the world.
I think that this is good news for this war on terror. Perhpas we are finally closing in and there will be an end in sight. However, I'm not sure if the job can be completed with a new president who wants completely different things.
