Access to the internet is something that most people take for granted, or is something that you wish for on, if you live in the middle of nowhere. IBM corp. is backing the idea to provide internet access via power lines. Almost every house has some kind of connection to a power line, but not always a cable line, and dial up internet is pretty much been fazed out. IBM is partnering with International Broadband Electric Communications Inc. to develop a plan and new technology to provide internet to rural areas. Enabling more people to have connectivity with the rest of the world, with not only a newspaper is great. The internet is a resource that enables people to be at the disposal of more resources such as education with online college classes. Due to the fact that in rural areas it is not attainable to build much infrastructure, power lines are the perfect gateway to saving money and making money simultaneously. This technology is something that can be used in the U.S. and the rest of the world. Connecting everybody is a way to keep everybody globally involved, and can be a benefit the the world.

I think that it is a great ability to link people to high-speed internet via powerlines so that it will spread to more people around the world who did not have access to it previously. This will certainly speed up the globalization process, allowing for more of the world to communicate to different areas.
I think that this is great. The rural areas seem to always lose out on the internet and phone connections. It is amazing how technology has evolved. This connection will allow everyone to keep in touch!
