Terrorist or Mental Patient?

Terrorism suspect let go
A woman by the name of Aafia Siddiqui was deemed unfit for trial due to mental problems.
She was taken into custody in Afghanistan and extradited to New York City. She is face with charges of an attempted shootout with security who questioned her.
She was wanted by the FBI from 2004 to now due to her alleged connections to Al-queda. She was a former MIT student. And when detained by the Afghan police, she had a document which mentioned’ “Mass Casualty Attack”. The document listed targets in majors landmarks in New York.
An FBI director by the name of Robert Mueller said the she was al-Qaeda operative and facilitator. On Nov. 6 a medical examiner concluded that she was mentally unfit to understand the nature of the proceedings against her.
My problem with this is how you could be a graduate of MIT and be considered mentally unfit. If you can graduate from a top school, get over to Afghanistan, and plan a national attack with a major criminal organization. She might be acting or she might just be an evil genius. I think she still should be monitored and still seen as a threat but if she is really mentally sick the she should be treated. But maybe there is a bigger picture to her intelligence. But the mass of information that she was capable of and gigabytes of information needs to be looked at.
