Israeli Website advises using wisdom of Quran

An Israeli Professor and his Bedouin students have launched a website to try and make the Quran into a tool to relate to current day problems in the world. The website takes each chapter of the Quran and breaks it down to simple explanations to let the public understand Islamic law. The website also strives to contradict the western presumptions that the Quran is used only to be an excuse for terrorist activities. Using students work about some verses of the Quran and what they believe they mean in modern day life is what the site incorporates, these writing by the students are also used and cited in the Quranet: A Guide for Education, the companion book to teaching the Quran. This site in some ways could really end some assumptions that are made about Islamic Fundamentalism and Islamic law. Having this material available on the web makes it easily accessible, and available to everybody that has an internet connection, which is a lot of people. The world is a home to 1.5 billion muslims, and with the use of this site, all non muslims with an understanding about Islam that is shaped by the media can use this site unravel the assumptions that they have made about Islam and the Muslim population. The internet is a multi functional tool, either it be for communication, education, pleasure, or any other activity the internet teaches us new things every day and this site is a prime example of communicating some vital informatin to the public.
