H1N1: The Most Dominant Strain of the Flu

The World Health Organization, WHO, stated that swine flu has now become the dominant strand of the flu virus around the world. It’s not like any other strain of the flu.Now that it is winter, the flu is spreading faster and is more potent than we believed it would be. Like the seasonal flu, the H1N1 virus is highly contagious. Unlike the seasonal flu, the H1N1 virus can still be infectious during the summer months. Around the world, the number of people infected and dying of the virus are increasing. The number of people with the virus is even larger than when it came about seven months ago. The people at the most risk for having complications with the virus are those who have chronic, underlying health conditions and in pregnant women. Luckily, scientists have not seen any significant mutations in the virus since it first came out. The viruses being collected now are generally similar to those that were collected at the being and there is also no evidence of the virus being resistant towards the vaccine.

It makes sense that the H1N1 virus is the dominant strain of the flu. It’s everywhere. It’s in every country around the world, affecting people of many different nationalities. I think people have underestimated its power and the threats it can pose to your health. Vaccines are being provided and I believe it is the best decision to protect yourself from this virus just in case. Why should you take the chance and risk your health?
