This article discusses how the World Bank and the Southern Sudan Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has launched an initiave of 25.5 million dollars to support the rebuilding of the education programs in the Southern Sudan area of Africa. The goal of this program is to revamp the four components of the Education rehabilitation program supported by the Multi-Door trust fund for Southern Sudan. This program plans to use this money to provide better trained teacher, provide makeshift classrooms with new facilities, and to provide more educational opportunites for adults and other non formal learners. This project is considered to be one of the major aspects of the development and the sistainibility of peace in the Sudan.

I think that this article is very promising as far as the education of many third-world countries. The literacy rate is very low in places like the Sudan, and this plan will hopefully bring the education rate up considerably. The new facilities, and better-trained teachers will be a major component of bettering the education of this region. The facilities and low trained teachers are part of the reason why the citizens are so little education now. I do think that this just reinforces the concept of how socioeconomic status definately contributes to the education that people receive. For instance, these people are so little educated because the funds have not been there to build their system of education. However, now that this huge grant has been brought in, the possibilities are much more present. There is also a major connection to education and peace and sustainibility. There has been civil wars taking place in the Sudan for decades, and now that the education is going to be on a rise, the level of peace is predicted to be on rise as well.

This is a good news that World Bank with the help of the help of ministry of education spend money on education. I think World Bank should be more active in providing loans in project that are related to education in poor countries around the world. Also, the money that is provided should be monitored very closely, so the money do not wasted in some other places other than the place need to be to spend.
