This article is about how The Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs has expressed concern over the disturbing trend in many churches in Botswana. The Ministry‘s Communications Manager, Ms. Osisinaga Lekgoko, said they receive a variety of complaints from various churches such as disputes over money, property, leadership positions and non-compliance with the churches’ constitutions. The ministry’s communication manager also says that, ‘These conflicts cause mismanagement of the affairs of the churches and the general day to day running of these organizations. Churches should be peaceful places that are free from conflict and are the embodiment of peace and harmony and it is disappointing to witness conflict in them.”

To solve these problems, the church needs to allow those who want to leave and start their own church to do so. No one can force someone to follow their rules or follow their beliefs. Another solution to the problem will be to come to the realization for what the sole purpose of the church is. The purpose is for unification and coming together to worship. If these ideas are ignored them more problems will arise. Thus if some churches are torn apart and new ones are created this in turn can be a way to allows those who want higher positions in the church to get these positions.
