After several cases of malaria, dengue, and chikungunya came about in the past month in Pune, India, the municipal commissioner by the name of Mahesh Zagade admitted that the reason for the huge spread of these diseases are the result of poor hygienic conditions in the city. Zagate says, "If malaria, dengue and chikungunya are spreading, we have to say that the city is unclean." Zagate had said this during a debate he was having in the general body meeting of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Wednesday. The PMC identified 23,000 breeding sites for mosquitoes, out of the 23,000 sites, 16,000 of those were permanent spots. Zagate says that cleanliness will be the responsibility of the ward offices (whatever they are). Insecticides are being sprayed all over the city. All parties from the PMC says that a lesson can be learned from Mumbai's recent brush with malaria. Citizens were advised to stop accumulating garbage and stagnant water, which attracts insects and rodents. Anything around the home that can catch rainwater, no matter how small the area, can a breeding place for mosquitoes (where I live, baby mosquitoes continually come from a cup of water with small bamboo plants standing in it. They lay eggs in there). The city of Pune plans to buy 100 fogging machines to combat the bug problem.
Notes from a lady by the name of Gail Eastwood from California posted on Redwood Times about how well homeopathy works when it comes to ailments. Homeopathy is basically a remedial concept for people suffering from anything from malaria to a common cold. It emphasizes natural remedies for curing a person's health problem. People can find cures from all sorts of naturally occurring products on Earth without the need for drugs. In the late 1700's, a Dr. Hahnemann turned from the standard practices of bleeding, purging, and use of heavy metals, and pondered and read on the nature of illness and cure. He read that Peruvian bark cured malaria because of its bitter astringent properties. He wanted to prove it by dosing the herb to himself. He developed symptoms of malaria. This favored the old hypothesis that a medicinal substance will cure in a sick person the symptoms it creates in a healthy person. He recruited all different types of people to be test subjects and it resulted in success. Followers of Hahnemann continued these investigations for the next 200 years. There are also impressive success rates pertaining to late eighteenth century and early nineteenth century epidemics such as cholera, scarlet fever, typhoid fever and things like that. Homeopaths also recognize that mental and emotional symptoms were inextricably entwined with physical symptoms.
Basically, a homeopathic treatment would involve a process of multiple natural remedies that eventually heal the entire body. It can be a combination of mental distressing, utilization of different health foods and plants, and healthy habits that can eventually heal the body over time. In the case of malaria in India and Africa, preventative methods can be implemented to ease the rate of disease in those countries. By reducing or eliminating breeding grounds, mosquitoes will drop in number. Also, by utilizing different concepts, a society can work toward decreasing the hazard of disease caused by pests--concepts like natural spray or leavenings, like garlic mist, can ward off mosquitoes while utilizing another trick to attract the various predators of the pests, like dragonflies and brown bats (look up the internet to know how). In the case of disease, the American Medical Association may have denounced the effectiveness of homeopathy, but in many cases, pharmaceuticals give medicines that cause side effects that are harmful in their own right. With each individual adopting home remedies without the approval of pharmaceuticals, people can implement affordable strategies to combat diseases with possible success. Upon the success of affordable naturally occurring remedies, societies can retain much of the income otherwise being lost to fund for drugs, which may possibly be made to produce negative side-effects.
