This article explores the idea of air pollution and its effects on the human body. "1,705 stroke cases in the Boston area with detailed data on the
day-to-day levels of various airborne pollutants, including vehicle
emissions such as particulate matter, black carbon, and nitrogen
dioxide." Researchers found that the chances of having a stroke the day after a moderate air day were 34% higher than a day when the air quality was declared as good. Although the research does not show evidence that pollution is a direct cause of strokes, it is highly possible. These studies have been conducted around the world and have also shown a cardiovascular risk. Dust particles can get in the bloodstream and reach the hear which causes major health issues. Pollution is something we (global citizens) must think about for the future because we share the atmosphere with so many people and I think most people do not realize that it cannot be reversed. People with health conditions should not be subject to limiting their exposure to the outdoors.
