Blog 9: Hispanics are crucial to college completion goals

Over the past few years the number of Hispanics attending college has been increasing. Most of this increase is from the adult students. For some Hispanic students they are the first in their family to attend college; a possible reason that some of their family members have been unable to attend college because they did not have the money to pay for it.  But let’s consider something, if our country is about everyone being equal then should not everyone be granted an opportunity to attend college? We should consider giving them aid to go attend college because one day they will be a part of the workforce. But the problem is that people only want to help certain people out, not just everyone, and we need to fix that. We can fix this problem by coming up with programs where not just to help Hispanics to attend college but other people that are not as fortunate as others. Eventually that money invested in their education in some way will be given back in the workforce who will then lead to them spending money which boosts our economy. If more people attend college they will have better job opportunities and be better qualified for a job. Even though some Hispanics are crossing the border illegally they are coming with good intentions, to get a good education and to help their families. If they want to benefit our country we should at least try to help them get a good education.
