Sierra Leoneans to stay home in final push to stop
Ebola
In Sierra
Leona Africa, 6 million people were told to stay home as a last result to stop
the spread of Ebola. The civilians of Sierra Leona were told to stay in their
homes and were only allowed out for religious purposes. They also had teams of
people reminding the civilians of how Ebola spread and how to prevent it and
protect themselves from this virus. Along
with the teams who spread information o Ebola, they also had teams who searched
for possible Ebola cases in the regions which had large number of flare ups. It
seems that the civilians of Sierra Leone are reacting well to the Quarantine so
far and have not had any major conflicts as a result of it. Sierra Leone was a country who was hit hard
with the Ebola outbreak a year ago. They also had the highest amount of cases.
The health system is using the method of quarantine to rid their country of
Ebola, so that they can return to normal.
I
personally never heard of a whole country or even a city going into quarantine
as a way to stop the spread of disease. It did not mention if this was the
first time that this country had tried to stop a spread of disease like this
before, so they probably have witnesses this before. The country of Sierra
Leone must be a very poor country of Africa because they have had the highest
cases of Ebola and is still trying to fight it off over a year later after
being discovered. I believe that quarantine might help some with the spread of
Ebola but sadly I feel that it would not stop the disease altogether.
