On Tuesday October 30, 2007, an Israeli strike killed four Hamas militants and wounded five others according to the Palestinian medical sources. This air strike comes as a retaliation from rocket and mortar attacks into southern Israel by Hamas militants. These four deaths being the total number of people dead since the '2000 Israeli-Palestinian violence' to 5,915 with the vast majority of dead being Palestinian. According the Israeli army they will continue to attack these types of terrorists to reduce the number of rockets from being fired into southern Israel. Israel's Defence Minister Ehud Barak said Tuesday that every rocket fired into Israel brings a military operation in the Gaza Strip closer each day. Barak also added "We are not happy about it and we would be happy if circumstances would prevent it, but the day is definitely nearing."
Before writing this blog I searched different news sites like CNN, Fox News, BBC, and even Yahoo but never found any negative actions by Israel. It seems they cannot do anything wrong or at least that's how it is reported to the world by the media. Maybe any news out of Israel is altered by the government/military or maybe the news goes unreported. All I can say is maybe Israel's problems might lie within their own country due to some of the treatment by the IDF (Israeli Defence Force) towards the Palestinian people. When you force people out of their homes and off of their land, which some have lived there for 3,000 years and cut their electricity and food/water supply for sometimes no reasons at all, actions by the Palestinian people may in some ways have a justification. I do not advocate violence but only peace. It is hard for diplomacy to work when neither side recognizes the other. "We will not know how to live together in peace by killing each others children" ~ former President Jimmy Carter.
