Bans 'do not cut abortion rate'

This article was hopefully an eye opening one for people. It shows statistics of abortions in thw world today. It talks about how rates of abortion are going down in part to availability of birth control. However, the rate of unsafe and illegal abortions hasnt really changed. Obviously where abortion is completely banned they dont have much of a choice but to do it illegaly. Where it is not banned on the other hand could just have to do with money and the economic status. There are many different complications that can come from this kind of action and can cause death. The article was of course ended on a quote of a person who is pro-life.
I think that these statistics show a change for the better in the world. With birth control becoming more available unwanted pregnancies are being avoided. However, I find the quotes at the end completely ridiculous. The thought that we could just avoid sex during those 24 hours and keep watch of those hours is not realistic. Also i just do not agree with complete ban on abortion especially when the life of the mother is at stake or the mother was raped.
